The Practice
Bjør was built on a single refusal: the refusal to do anything disposable. Every project — from a single custom pendant to a full commercial lighting scheme — is approached with the same obsessive attention to materials, craft, and longevity.
For over a decade, I've watched people spend hundreds of dollars assembling furniture that won't survive one move. I've seen interiors lit with fixtures that flatten the rooms they're supposed to bring to life. That's not design — it's decoration. And it's not what I do.
I work in solid wood, hand-finished metal, and real glass. When you work with me, you're bringing in a single point of contact with twelve years of expertise across every dimension of the built environment.

What I Do
Ambient, accent, and task lighting conceived as a system. LED installations, smart home integration, fixture sourcing, and full electrical installation. I design the light before touching a single wire.
Custom fixture fabrication and precision installation. I build lights from raw materials when nothing off-the-shelf meets the standard. Every installation is clean, code-compliant, and built to last.
Bespoke pieces built from solid hardwoods. Yakisugi / Shou Sugi Ban finished pieces, live edge tables, shelving, cabinetry, and integrated furniture-lighting systems. From Burning Man installations to Brickell penthouses.
Full-room direction including spatial layout, material palette, art placement, and finish selection. I consult, specify, source, and install — no hand-off, no gaps in translation.

My path here wasn't conventional. I grew up in Spokane, moved to San Francisco at 23 to work at Apple as a visual merchandiser — learning how the world's most design-obsessed company thought about space, light, and the difference between good and extraordinary.
I left corporate life to join a hardware startup, then went independent when I realized the only projects worth doing were the ones where I had complete ownership of the outcome. That was twelve years ago.
Since then I've built a practice that covers more ground than any single discipline usually allows: lighting design, furniture fabrication, electrical systems, art placement, interior consulting. This practice is small by design. Every project gets my full attention, from the first consultation to the final adjustment.
How It Works
A 30–45 minute conversation about your space, goals, timeline, and budget. No pressure. I need to understand the full picture before I can tell you what's possible.
I visit the space, evaluate existing conditions, and identify opportunities and constraints. This is where most projects take shape — in person, in the room.
A detailed scope, timeline, and fixed-price proposal. A signed agreement and deposit secure your start date. Everything in writing before anything is built.
Execution with consistent communication. I handle every phase — sourcing, fabrication, installation, finishing — to a standard I'm proud to put my name on.
